Richard Burns, the 2001 World Rally Champion, passed away Friday, losing his battle with brain cancer. The 34
year-old Burns fought his illness with the same energy and bravery that he brought to his sport, enduring both
chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and finally surgery. Unfortunately, the odds were against him from the start, and it
proved to be a battle he could not win.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends. A memorials page has been set up on his
website.
