Our buddy Raj just reminded us to update y'all on the new Subaru STi S04 special edition, recently released in Japan. As the site -- and Edmunds Inside Line notes, the ultimate collector's Scoobie is based on the Impreza WRX STi, but powered by a tweaked-out version of Subaru's 2.0-liter EJ20 engine. Like the last-generation's S02 and S03 models, the S04 gets a custom turbo setup that boosts horsepower to 316, with a torque increase to 318 lb-ft. in the new model. Oh there's lots more stuff included, all for the equivalent of $41,000, an $8,500 premium over the STi.
